Position: Social Media Marketing Intern

THE POSITION
We’re seeking intern candidates for Fall 2013! 15-20 hours per week, 50% onsite in Belmont, 50% working remotely. You’ll report directly to the CEO, and work closely with the VP of Marketing, Director of Public Relations and staff designers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
:: Create compelling, eye-catching social media content.
:: Implement the social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across Talkler to ensure its effectiveness.
:: Manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, SIGs, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed.
:: Become an advocate for Talkler in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
:: Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results. (Via Facebook ads, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, etc.)
:: Report insights gained from social media monitoring to the Marketing team and Leadership of Talkler, to help them evolve their strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS
:: Enrolled in a Bachelors/Masters program at an accredited college or university.
:: 18 years or older and have Freshman standing or above.
:: Able to commit to a work schedule of 2-4 days per week, for a minimum 15 hours per week.
:: Reliable transportation to and from work.
:: Detail-oriented and highly organized.
:: High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
:: Able to coordinate multiple work streams for on-time project delivery.
:: Able to shift easily from project to project in a fast-paced work environment.
:: Able to write creative and relevant copy for promotional use.
:: Eager to learn and absorb at a fast pace.

THE POSITION
We’re seeking candidates for immediate openings! 15-20 hours per week, 50% onsite in Belmont, 50% working remotely. You’ll report directly to the CEO, and work closely with the CTO, VP of Tech Strategy and the team of testers around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Investigate new user analytics to discover how users are interacting with the app.
- Design and conduct usability tests in collaboration with our UI specialists, to uncover user interface design improvement opportunities.
- Make recommendations to the team for changes to the app, based on your tests.
- Implement new code testing methods for “beating up” on the app, to detect and reproduce bugs.
- Collaborate with VP of Tech Strategy to manage our app testers and unit testers around the world.
- Analyze primary data from our testers, to discover underlying trends and problem areas.
- Take the reins for “special projects,” such as designing and building a new bug tracking system, or inventing new methods for understanding + reporting user analytics to the CEO and the team.

Position: Speech Technology Testing + Tuning + Special Projects

THE POSITION
We’re seeking candidates for immediate openings! 15-20 hours per week, 50% onsite in Belmont, 50% working remotely. You’ll report directly to the CEO, and work closely with the CTO, VP of Tech Strategy and our beta users across the country.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interview beta users for their first-hand reports of “talking to Talkler” — to discover where Talkler understands and where Talkler is tone deaf.
- Interact directly with beta users to gather recorded audio of grammar trials involving command-and-control ASR.
- Process audio recordings via ASR testing applications, comparing actual utterances vs. what the technology heard.
- Design and conduct grammar tests in collaboration with our speech scientist, to uncover design improvement opportunities.
- Analyze primary data from our beta users, to discover underlying trends and problem areas.
- Collaborate with VP of Tech Strategy and CTO to manage our beta users across the country.
- Make recommendations to the team for changes to the app’s UX + grammars, based on your tests.
- Take the reins for “special projects,” such as designing and testing new approaches to interacting with Talkler via voice.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Enrolled in a Bachelors/Masters Computer Science program at an accredited college or university. Ideally enrolled in a program with Computational Linguistics or Speech Technology focus.
- 19 years or older and have Sophomore standing or above.
- Able to commit to a work schedule of 2-4 days per week, for a minimum 15 hours per week.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Able to coordinate multiple work streams for on-time project delivery.
- Able to shift easily from project to project in a fast-paced work environment.
- Eager to learn and absorb at a fast pace.
- Strong math and statistics skills.
- Strong grounding in computer science, computational linguistics, and speech technology.
- Some experience with software projects — designing, building, testing.
